“SILENCE, WORD AND THE FACE OF OUR NEIGHBOR”
June 5, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - June 12, 2017 @ 12:30 pm
Presented by Rev. Brian Pierce, OP
Following the rhythm of the tide, we will spend the days moving back and forth between Silence, Contemplative Meditation and the Word of God. The face and voice of our neighbor will be before us as a living icon. We will have silent meditation and a meditative talk each morning, along with a homily in the context of the celebration of the Eucharist in the late afternoon.
Fr. Brian grew up in Texas, but has spent twenty-one years of his Dominican life outside of the United States – mostly in Latin America (Honduras, Guatemala and Peru). Brian has recently returned to the US after 6 years of a Rome-based ministry. He frequently gives preaching workshops, mostly in Latin America, and has written these books: Martin de Porres: A Saint of the Americas (New City Press, 2004), We Walk the Path Together: Learning from Thich Nhat Hanh and Meister Eckhart (Orbis Books, 2005), and Jesus and the Prodigal Son: The God of Radical Mercy (Orbis Books 2016)
